Niru Raveendran - Founder
Niru most recently worked on launching a Renewable Energy Credit fund, VerdEx was born out of that experience. Prior to that, he worked for two decades in the capital markets, being the former Head of CEEMEA Credit at Deutsche Bank, Head of EMEA Corporates at BNP Paribas and spent over a decade at JP Morgan. He has long standing relationships with a range of global institutional investors. Niru holds a MEng Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, having specialised in Nuclear Reactor Technology and Fossil Fuel Emissions.
Emma FitzGerald - Advisor
Emma is an independent Non Executive Director of a range of companies playing a crucial role in accelerating Energy Transition for packaging, biomaterials, renewables, mining and next generation batteries. Previously she was CEO of Puma Energy, a global business providing energy solutions to developing markets in Central America, Africa and Asia. She also ran water and gas networks in the UK and Downstream Retail & B2B businesses for Shell around the world. Emma holds a DPhil in Surface Chemistry from Balliol College, Oxford University and an MBA from Manchester Business School.
Ram Kumar - Advisor
Ram is the co-founder and Managing Partner of Real Assets Investment Management (RAIM), an investment platform focused on the Infrastructure sector. Previously, he was a senior member of the Energy & Infrastructure team at KKR and has also worked in Goldman Sachs where he was one of the founding team members of Goldman Sachs’ global Infrastructure investment platform. He holds B.E. (Mechanical) and M.Sc. (Economics) degrees from BITS, Pilani (India), and an M.B.A. from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (India).
Daniel Berman - Advisor
Daniel has over 25 years of Corporate Finance experience and is currently the co-founder of a financial advisory firm serving African corporates, Flamingo Capital Partners. He began his career at JP Morgan where he was Head of Capital Markets and Hedging for Sub-Saharan Africa and subsequently moved to Standard Chartered in a similar role. Over his career he has worked on a range of transactions involving the energy and infrastructure sectors in both the debt and equity capital markets. Daniel holds a BA in Economics and Psychology from Trinity College, Dublin.
Raja Palaniappan - Advisor
Raja is the CEO and co-founder of Origin, a capital markets fintech that digitises and automates the issuance of bonds in the debt capital markets. Originally launched in 2015, Origin now works with over 20 major investment banks and 100 borrowers worldwide. Originally from San Francisco, Raja spent the first 7 years of his career working on the trading floors of Lehman Brothers, Nomura, and most recently at Credit Suisse. Raja holds electrical engineering and biology degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Marcelo Tokman - Advisor
Marcelo is an independent Non Executive Director of several companies in the energy sector. Previously, he was Chile’s first Minister of Energy and Chairman of the National Energy Commission. He was also the former CEO of ENAP, Chile’s National Oil and Gas company, with operations in Chile, Argentina, Ecuador and Egypt. Marcelo was also Vestas’ Vice president for South America. Marcelo holds a BA degree in economics from Pontificia Universidad Catolica and an MA and a PhD from University of California, Berkeley.
